APIBJJ
For fight matchmakers

Stop trusting a manager's word for a fighter's record.

We cross-check every name on your card against official results from nine organizations, gi or no-gi, home or abroad, and hand back the verified record before you announce the fight.

We collect weekly, running 18 automated checks on every update. If one fails, nothing ships. Scraping is rate-limited and cached so we don't hammer the federations, and we keep the raw data exactly as published before any normalization touches it.

One athlete, one record, even when the name changes

86,380 spellings → 84,168 people

No federation spells an athlete's name the same way twice. Accents dropped, a middle name missing, a nickname from their team. "Sarah C. Firme Galvao" and "Sarah Galvao" could be one person or two. We solve that before we sell you a single row.

How it works

Every result comes in with a name, team, belt, age class, and gender. When two spellings line up (same surname, same team, name tokens in order), we merge them. But belts never regress, an age class implies a birth year, and weight can't jump 75% in a year: any contradiction on those signals blocks the merge, even with an identical name.

House rule: it's better to leave two rows apart than to invent a career that never happened. A bad merge is the one nobody catches until a promoter is handed a fictional record.

In practice
"Sarah C. Firme Galvao" (ATOS, 2025) and "Sarah Galvao" (ATOS, 2026): same initials, same team, black belt both years → one athlete_id.
"Sarah Silva" (white belt, Alliance) stays separate: different team, a belt that can't belong to the same person.
